Third week of school already

Hi Cousin Kerry—
I can’t believe it is already the third week of school. Things are going well.
The PTA bought five card tables for my classroom. They got them at Costco and each one came with four matching chairs. I am so grateful for their support and generosity. They look great! I am happy that I won’t have to use those bulky chairs from the auditorium.
It was really fun getting together with my college friends. You were right about seeing them. I tried not to compare their huge salaries, new cars, and new houses with scrounging around for card tables to do my work……but it was hard not to notice those things.
How is it going with Wanda?

No time for a long email……
I’m going to give you a clue to the answer to your question:
Don’t even ask about Wanda.
I’m calling her Wanda Won’t.
She doesn’t listen…ever….

Hi Kerry—
Wanda Won’t….Wow……horrible news for sure….
I’m having unbelievable difficulties of my own….enough to make me consider quitting…I can’t believe I’m saying those words….
You won’t believe who is going to evaluate me this year……Stan
Apparently, he and my principal got into a royal battle over the furniture in my classroom. I won the furniture battle……I also won Stan……He went to the superintendent and said I needed special oversight, and he volunteered to do it. Apparently, she thought it was a dandy idea……
Let’s get together and talk……and cry together….
When are you free?
Chance
Unfortunately, this scenario is too familiar. It requires good, well trained, experienced administrators to keep all of this childish behavior in check. NO wonder no one wants to be a teacher!
